Argos soft+ Guild wars?
Okay sorry if i haven't posted this Into the Correct section of the Forum i was really Unsure about where this Thread would go.
Okay so Most of us have Heard of argos soft and and Use it for Finding items, Price checks ect. But They have new things Like the Vanquisher foe Display and the Dress up. Okay onto the Topic- After about a Week or so after using Argos soft to search for a Price check on an Item i noticed this little "A" Logo looks like the Argos soft logo appears in my Icons on bottom right of my task Bar. Recently they have released A Guild wars dress up which you Download when Guild wars is running and Runs just like Texmod. People have scanned and said it was Safe. But since i tried it(haven't touched it for about 2-3 days) I've noticed whenever i play guild wars that Random "A"Logo appears again. Is this Anything to be Concerned about? Would it be related to Argos soft? Has anybody else Seen/Experienced this logo? |

I use the price check thingy with no qualms as it is wholly browser-based.
The dress-up app, on the other hand, I wouldn't touch with yours. Anything that in any way interacts with gw.exe while it is running is a BAD THING. There are notable exceptions, such as gwmultilaunch et al, but I'm not going to risk this one. The "A" you're talking about is likely coincidental - that's the indication that you've somehow switched input languages.

Can you post a picture of the A? It could be a completely unrelated program. I think when Adobe programs want updates they put an A logo in your system tray, it could be that, or something similar to that.

I keep seeing these argos threads and ppl asking same question ( is it safe etc ) and still no 1 can really answer.
Before ppl say no viruses detected etc etc - If you were a sad coder who decided it is fun to make viruses .. wouldnt you design a virus/keylogger that is invisible or has a time delay as i know i would. Also with all anti v progs they have to recognise the virus to begin with otherwise we get them slipping thru. Also we dont know anets stance on this program - many have siad it looks like it injects the exe file and im guessing if detected by anet they may see it as bot and ban. So in a nutshell untill both anets said its ok to use ( they can tell the difference between it and a bot ) and we know its 100% safe im staying away - best to be safe than sorry i feel. |
